Painted JSA - Group Shot!

Two posts in one day? Unheard of... :)

My JSA have grown from pretty humble beginnings into a sizable force, often becoming my go-to for tournament play. So with a lot of painting activity lately I thought it might be time for a family shot. Everyone huddle!...

What I love about this army is that it contrast nicely with my Nomads in terms of both playstyle and colors. So between them they provide me with a lot of options on the battlefield and painting table.

They are by no means finished(in fact the Karakuri just need final highlights) but I do have most of the models I like in the range. So next up would be new releases, like Yo Jimbo or new Raiden loadouts.

Color wise I'm happy with it, not different as my Nomad scheme, but as I said in the beginning I really dig the red, black and white JSA colors.

Fave model is the female Kempetai, followed by the bikes. Least fave would be Asuka, mainly due to the pose. So at some point in the distant future I may dabble in a conversion. But for now, she is good.

  1. Impressive work......nothing quite like getting the full force out and getting some photos is there! :)

Felt like something was missing and took a minute to suss out what - Ninja. No plans to add any? You've got the Oniwaban, but the bog standard people in black?

    1. Cheers! It was pretty cool to get them all together. Makes the hours of painting worth it.

I do have the Ninja hacker, but have never used her, so therefore she hasn't got any paint love. Ninjas feel very squishy and expensive, so it's often been Kitusne or Saito that gets the nod ahead of them. Specially when Kitusne could score as an Lt. But I do think the Ninja models are great, they just need a rules tweak or point drop to make me want to take them.

  2. Finally! A very cohesive group sir. Really like them. Almost makes me want to pick up an Haqq Islam or Aleph starter set. Almost....
