Infinity - Painted Nomads - Gecko TAG

I've got one of two Gecko light TAGs painted, and here he is in his chunky glory. Here is the fluff behind these guys:

Geckos were the lightest and smallest T.A.G. model in the Reptile series, as well as the first to become obsolete. Conceived as a reconnaissance and early contact T.A.G., the limited speed capacities of its tiny motor plant, its light armor and its rudimentary fire control system soon seemed insufficient in the fierce Human Sphere arms race. However, even with all its defects, Geckos had a virtue highly regarded by Corregidor’s military: they were comparatively very cheap. The Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor also came to value the simplicity of its design, which makes maintenance tasks easier, as well as its small size, which makes it ideal for naval operations and moving inside the narrow corridors of spaceships and orbitals, the most common operating environments for this Nomad force.

This being the first TAG for my Nomads I had to figure out how I was going to apply the color scheme. I toyed with mostly blue, and also mostly grey/black, but in the end figured the bone color would work. I got him done pretty quickly, so may go back later to smooth out stuff and add more details. But since I don't really enjoy painting large models that may never happen. Ha! TAGs look cool, but I just don't enjoy how long they take to paint, as I like quick results. But they are cool to have on the tabletop and in a list. This guy is a light TAG, so you can see how he sizes next to the Yu Jings O-Yoroi.

More Infinity snaps soon. Nomad Intruder is finished and will pop up soon.

    1. Thank you sir! It's a beefy beast for sure. Looking forward r=to testing him out in some games soon.

    2. Be certain to bring a defensive hacker. Geckos are the only TAGs I've successfully possessed due to their measly -3 BTS. Wildcat hackers work great for this :-)

    3. Oh for sure. I mean, any good Nomad player never leaves home without a top tier hacker! I run vanilla a lot, so usually go with a Custodier. I also want to pick up the Interventor box too. I do love me some hackers...

  2. I like the look of this mech over the Yu Jing one. Just looks more meatie and resistance to damage. Kind of Imperial vs Eldar, ya know?

Good colour choices though. Like the blue as spot colour.

    1. Thank you sir! Yeah, the Gecko is a squat and chunky light TAG used for boarding actions. So it looks a bit more robust and aggressive. It's a cool model. The other one Gecko in the two tag boxset has a more open pose with duel wielding rifles in each hand. I painted this guy first as I prefer the load out.

Each faction has disticnt styles for their TAGs. The other Yu Jing TAG is actually pretty chunky though, the Guija. It's Chinese though, so my Japanese don't have the option to run it.

    2. Speaking of Infinity, have you seen that new boxed set they are soon to release? Looks very nice and reasonably priced as well.

    3. Yes indeed, I have it on pre order! Operation Icestorm. I'm going to write a whole post looking at the boxset soon. It looks great, can't wait to get my hands on it.
