Infinity new starter box set: Operation Icestorm

Corvus Belli is about to launch it's new addition of Infinity very soon. So with 3rd ed just around the corner they've also come up with a pretty sweet starter box called Operation Icestorm.

Imagine how happy this Nomad player was to find out that the box includes all new Nomad sculpts AND two completely new units. Plus terrain, a gaming mat, new templates, dice, quick start rules, and limited edition mini if you pre order. It's designed as the perfect entry point to the game, and has some truly stunning models. With a series of scenarios depicting an escalating conflict between the Nomads and PanO. Each one teaching more about the game and mechanics.

3rd edition Infinity is very exciting indeed. Looking to be a much smoother version of the game with tweaked rules rather than overalls. What we can see of it in Icestorm looks fantastic. Infinity is already a fun, fast and balanced game. So they are not fixing what isn't broke, but a few rules definitely needed a slight adjustment here and there, mainly to re word and make it easier for new players.

So what do we get...

It's a sweet deal to be sure, and the prefect time to get into the game if you have been hovering around it. Look forward to opening mine next month. Can't wait...

  1. I have most definitely had a credit card related slip on this one!

  2. Ordered mine within 4 hours of it going live on the website. I'm super-excited about the Reverand Healer. A Full-fledged doctor for Nomads (and likely Bakunin)? Yes, please.

Grenzer looks interesting but I actually think I like the concept art more than the figure.

    1. Same here, didn't waste any time ordering it. I like all the Nomad models, which is a pleasant surprise as I expected a few that I wouldn't. The show stealer for me is the new Mobile Brigada. I've wanted to field these guys for a while but was waiting for new sculpts. Solid job on him.

I dig the Rev Healer too, fantastic sculpt and will be super handy on the board. You know I like the Grenzer, but I think further releases will show off more of that vibe, which the art captures so well.

  3. After attending Gencon, I have my copy, and I am itching to put models together. ALL of the figures look great, but I'll agree that the Mobile Brigada steals the show. Good thing I collect Nomads in addition to Yu JIng ;)

Now they just need to get the Invincible Sectorial out!!!

    1. Oh man so jealous! I heard they went quick at GenCon too. Looking forward to getting my hands on them for sure, not long now. Although Destiny is also out in september so that may dent my painting. Ha ha.

Yes indeed. the Invincible Sectorial will be fantastic. I'm tempted myself, but that book will also have Tunguska for Nomads so I suspect I will be kept busy with them. That book is eagerly awaited!
